We will make a stop for breakfast in a typical restaurant and an excursion to the banana plantation. Arrival at the pier and start cruising the channels of the national park until you arrive at the lodge.
Accompanied by our guide, we will board our boat to the world famous Tortuguero. As the boat slowly cruises through the canals, we will have chance to observe a great variety of animals such as monkeys, iguanas, etc. The guide will show you the flora and fauna of the national park, one of the most attractive in Central America.
In the morning, the return to the pier begins. Around midday we'll have a lunch in a typical restaurant and then the connection to the Arenal Volcano. (La Fortuna). After breakfast, transfer to the Pacific or Caribbean sea. We’ll decide together the best option and program at the sea. Our partners in the area will be at your total disposal to inform you about tours and excursions available.
Free stay at the beach.
After breakfast you will be transferred Jeep-Boat-Jeep to Monteverde National Park, which is quite a hike in itself as it is by land to Lake Arenal and then by river to Monteverde, where there will be a short land ride to your chosen hotel. Monteverde is a magnificent natural reserve within the provinces of Puntarenas and Alajuela. It covers 10,500 hectares (26,000 acres) with elevations ranging from 600 to 1800 meters above sea level.
The reserve is divided into six ecological zones, 90% of which is made up of virgin forest, home to over 161 species of amphibians and reptiles. As many as 93 species of long-distance migratory birds pass through Monteverde during their migration after breeding in North America. Even the Quetzal, the bird of Mayan culture, lives in this reserve and is recognizable thanks to its flamboyant plumage of splendid colors.
In the morning Interbus will offer you the transfer to San José airport for your flight back home or any other destination.
